Before he began advocating for the injured and their families, Max spent years at an Atlanta medical malpractice defense firm defending hospitals, doctors, nursing homes, mental health facilities, and pharmacies from claims of negligence. There, he learned how insurance companies and their lawyers evaluate and defend cases, knowledge he now uses to benefit those harmed by the health care system. Max then worked at an AmLaw 100 firm representing some of the most well-known health care providers in the country in both payor disputes and qui-tam litigation. Now, he provides each of the firm’s clients with the same level of focus and care that he once provided to billion-dollar companies.
Max graduated with honors from the University of Georgia and the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was a member of the Journal of International and Comparative Law and participated in Moot Court. Max began his career clerking for United State Magistrate Judge Benjamin Cheesbro, where he saw first-hand how federal courts evaluated and resolved cases.
In his spare time, Max enjoys cheering on the Dawgs, watching the latest new releases at a local theatre, and continuing to cross destinations off of his travel list.
“My family and I turned to Stephen Chance and Lance Lourie to help us through a very bad situation concerning our mother and a nursing home. They helped us with their knowledge and caring attitude….”
