A serious injury in a car accident can involve significant recovery time. Medical expenses and lost income can lead to real financial hardship. For Georgians, it’s important to get reimbursed by your insurance provider and by the insurance company of any at-fault driver. If the at-fault driver is uninsured or does not have sufficient liability coverage to cover all claims, the victims can sometimes file a claim against their own uninsured/underinsured coverage for recovery. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not always pay valid claims. If you are involved in an insurance dispute, there are options to help solve your problems.
A three-car accident in Covington recently led to one death and five injuries. The accident occurred on the Covington Bypass Road when a full size pickup truck hit a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier and then veered across the centerline where it collided head-on with a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier. The driver of the 1999 Cavalier, a 21-year-old woman, was killed. The accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrols’ Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team. Charges could be filed against the driver of the pickup, depending on the outcome of the investigation.
If you are wrongfully denied recovery on an insurance claim, it’s helpful to have an attorney who is familiar with the applicable Georgia law regarding bad faith claims. You may be able to get additional compensation if you can prove that that insurance company has wrongly denied the claim.
A crash can change your life and the last things that you want to worry about are the financial implications of a long hospital stay and time lost from work. That’s what insurance is for, but sometimes companies will deny valid claims. Aggressively pursuing a claim with the help of an experienced personal injury attorney can put you on the right track to receiving the compensation you deserve.
